This is a great Greek restaurant that serves wonderful food. We had the Athenian Greek Gyros with Fries & Baclava. The Gyros were so large it required two hands to eat them. The meat was perfect, pita perfectly soft and the vegetables were fresh. Fries were crispy and tasty. The Baklava was perfect. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. If you want a great Greek lunch or dinner, come here!

Great authentic Greek restaurant. Friendly service and everything is fresh and made to order. Quiet atmosphere. Best Greek spot in Lafayette. Well established, been around since the 80s. Try the chicken kabob and the gyros are always wonderful.

**Not Quite the Greek Experience I Expected** During my vacation in Lafayette, Indiana, I decided to try Akropolis based on its high ratings. I ordered the chicken gyro with fries. While the fries were excellent, the chicken was dry, overly peppered (which I don’t eat), and lacked authentic Greek flavor. It was skillet-sautéed rather than grilled on a skewer. On a positive note, my friend ordered the Athenian Gyro and said it was fantastic, and I thought the portion sizes were fair for the price. The restaurant was quiet since we visited on a weekday, and the service was fine. Overall, I wouldn’t rate this as a 4+ star experience like some other reviews suggest. Perhaps I just chose the wrong dish.

The best gyros in town (not that there are many options). Juicy gyro meat with quality ingredients prepared by a couple of legit Greek guys who are serious about their craft. You can't call ahead or order online - so show up in person. You won't have to wait long.
